Tapered Roller Bearings
Tapered Roller bearings have a clear advantage of other kinds of bearings because of their capability to carry combined (axial and radial) loads to a great extent. This can be applied only in one direction and is normally towards the cone of the bearing.
Tapered roller bearings consist of four basic components including: the cone (inner ring), the cup (outer ring), tapered rollers, and a cage (roller retainer). The cone, cup and rollers carry the load while the cage spaces and retains the rollers on the cone.
